
THE pound has risen by 0.3 per cent against the US dollar today, thanks to much better-than-expected UK retail sales data. This surprise jump in sales has made one pound worth around $1.341, which is below the week’s high of $1.348 but above $1.331, the lowest exchange rate since November 2017.
