COMCAST sparked a potential bidding war with Rupert Murdoch for Sky after it launched a formal £22billion offer for the satellite broadcaster. The US cable giant had already flagged its intention to gatecrash Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox bid to buy the remaining 61 per cent of Sky it does not already own.
